Business managers, as well as decision makers in the public sector ought to be endowed with basic skills in economics and finance in order to take advantage of the opportunities, and avoid risks arising from such a globalized world. Quite a number of higher education institutions in our country offer both Economics and Finance programs as separate fields. Yet, the privilege of being the first institution to offer a joint program in these two areas belongs to the Department of Economics and Finance at Doğuş University. Founded in 2001, the Department has rapidly progressed in spite of the economic crisis the country was going through
Today, the education offered by the Department meets the highest standards, and each member of the faculty is considered an authority in her/his area of specialization. Initially, the program was offered in English. However, starting from 2006-2007, the department offered the program in Turkish as well. The department also provides opportunities to students to improve their computer abilities. The department also provides opportunities for students to improve their use of computer abilities.
