As a result of globalization, the world has almost become a single market, competition has intensified between companies. In such an atmosphere, the differentiation path passes through public relations and promotional activities. In this frame, in advertising and public relations sectors and other areas of communication, the need for competent and professional labor force is increasing day by day. Accordingly, nowadays, the businesses should establish an interactive communication for a long term with available and potential target market rather than producing quality product and service. Expectations of employees, customers, potential customer candidates, partners and civil society organizations from the institutions are increasing day by day. Competition has passed from national boundaries to a global level. Public Relations is a kind of communication bridge between the institution with audience. At this point, “Public Relations and Publicity “ has a great mission. Employment of qualified staffs has become agenda in order for the applications for brand communication, corporate identity, the relationship with the media, corporate communication studies and marketing to be performed successfully. In light of this information, the purpose of public relations and promotional program is to educate graduates who the sector need, have theoretic and practical background, vision, can transfer innovation into business processes and can reveal their differences.

Programme structure

In the first semester of the program of Public Relations and Publicity, the students are provided with basic courses such as introduction to communication, public relations and business, etc. In the remaining three semesters of educations, communication processes are handled as a whole and the courses such as new media, new trends in public relations, marketing, advertising, organizational behavior, marketing research, media and media planning, etc. are given. In this context, recent innovations and developments in the national and international level are examined and basic knowledge, which the students have acquired, is reinforced through the examples. Besides the theoretic courses concerning these fields, practical training is concentrated and projects and internships are encouraged.

Graduates of the program may work not only in public relations and advertising agency, in any organization offering products and services to consumer and focusing on communication with customers.
