History, as a discipline, has undergone many changes over the past decades in terms of its approaches, methodology and sources. With this awareness, the Graduate Program in History at İstanbul Şehir University offers a curriculum that adopts an interdisciplinary and comparative approach. The goals of the program are as follows:
To develop new methods in the understanding and interpretation of historical sources,
To establish new themes and agendas in historiography in keeping with local needs,
To contribute to world history with local perspectives.
The Graduate Program in History, with faculty members who have publishing and teaching experience on both national and international levels, sets out to contribute to the discipline of history in Turkey, offering research projects and a dynamic curriculum that is kept up-to-date with the latest developments in the field.
The primary language of instruction is English. Students who do not have the requisite level of English are expected to attend a year-long English preparatory course.
